Eve and the Gryphon, by Gerald Vann, O.P.

Brief Book Summary

In Vann's book the vocatoin of women is divided in 4 sections...Vann uses some exemplary woman to help explain and difine womanhood

Why this Book?

Vann's book explains what it means to be a woman.  He explains it in a way that the Creator intended women to be.  He doesn't sugar coat it.  He doesn't say that women can be men. He articulates the beauty of true womanhood which is directly connected to motherhood, whether it be physcial, biological, or spiritual.

Woman, while living in individual circumstances

No one can live in the ideal all of the time.  Some can never reach the ideal.  But at The Eighth Station, women look to the ideal always regardless of thier indvidual circumstance. As Vann explains in his book, woman live as God intended them to be. Instead of justifying or rationalizing our past sins or living in current consequesnes of sins, we promote the ideal by our example of repentance and efforts to change our lives to answer the will of God.
